Hey, I’m Brett — the filmmaker behind Different Suns.

I’ve been filming weddings across Perth, Margaret River, Yallingup and Broome for more than a decade. My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive: I’ll offer some guidance when it helps, but I’m not there to turn your wedding into a production or spend the day making you perform for the camera.

What interests me most is everything that makes a wedding feel personal — the people, the anticipation, the emotion, the ridiculous moments and everything happening around the edges. Those are the pieces I bring together to create a film that feels like your day, rather than somebody else’s version of it.

When you book Different Suns, it’s me you’re dealing with from the first email through to filming and editing your wedding. I take on a limited number of weddings so every film is edited personally and given the time it deserves.

Outside of weddings, I’m a husband and ridiculously proud dad to two boys. My wife provides loving but ruthless quality control, while the boys mostly just enjoy it when I point the camera at birds.
